This Japanese-Korean co-produced feature film‘s trailer features some of the most beatiful imagery I’ve seen for a long time. Perfect Lighting, Compostion, Timing and Editing. What more can you ask for (except for a good story, fine actors and a brilliant director, of course. But trailers don’t tell you much in that regard…)

The movie is an adaptation of a 1970 live action super hero TV programme. It later was reborn as a 35 episode anime TV series called “Shinzo Ningen Cassan” (“Casshan: Robot Hunter”) in 1973 and finally incarnated again as a four episode direct-to-video anime series in 1993 under the same name. With rumors about non-anime remakes of “Akira” and “Evangelion”, this shouldn’t come by surprise. Looks as if we should see more anime turn into life action in the near future.

Speedy Saturday Night

Saturday we finally went for ‘a few’ beers to “Cafe Ska”, the small yet nice indie/alternative place located in the old ‘Kunstakademi’ building near the castle where we had hung out with the Canadians in January. As we had picked up some food before, we apparently missed a crazy band (we met these guys when entering, the did look crazy) and had to listen to ugly music while enjoying some of the cigars I brought.

After a stop in another place that Karl, Jo’s brother told us “would be open after 3.30″, we ended up in a private flat again. It was an interesting mixture of terminal drunk creatives — a movie director, a pop star and his girlfriend (who’s flat it actually was), an artist, a music video director, a character TD and me. I’m always surprised still, as the diversity of drugs consumed in Germany by creative people definitely has a smaller bandwidth compared to Norway. By reading this posting’s title again, the reader can easily deduce what I’m taking about.

Howbeit, my experiences with this very substance date back to a time almost ten years ago when I was in my early twenties, so I knew that it would be a bad idea to join in as Hans had offered to take us on a little sightseeing trip on Sunday and Monday work would be waiting that needed to be finished regardless of any hangovers that this drug usually does cause. I therefore rejected the kind offers of my Norwegian hosts, leading to me giving in to Morpheus’ courting at about 7.30 and finally arriving in my Hotel room at about 8 o’clock in the morning.

Back in Norway

I’m back in Oslo since Tuesday. This time I came by plane, with a Bombardier/Candair plane (I think it was a Global Express). This meant a lot of space and a much more relaxed feeling than in one of those big jets.
