Elephant Gossip

Recently quite a few ramblings and raves regarding “Free Jimmy” have taken place or are still fed in various places. Believe it or not, even Aint it Cool News has a feature about it. CGTalk followed up and a few people commented that worked (and are working) on it. There also was another thread on CGTalk a while ago that contains lots of fascinating guesses on what this movie might be all about.

Yesterday evening it started snowing heavily. Oslo is again very white but temperatures suggest this beauty will be of a rather ephemeral quality. I hope I can take a Photo later from the studio’s terrace.

On Friday, two Canadians arrived. One of which, Aghiles, who is the lead developer of the 3Delight renderer at the impressive age of 27, I was particularly eager to meet. We had known each other by email for four years, but met personally on Friday for the first time. He’s definitely also a very nice person outside of Cyberspace. I hope we get good friends in the short term. The other guy from Canada was Robert, also a very nice person who despite not being as junior as Aghiles, never showed the slightest problem in keeping up partying with us later.

Friday evening all the Animagics, the Candians and us Germans hung out again in Teddy’s, a nice bar which’s interior hasn’t been touched since the 50’s. We had visited Teddy’s alread on Wednesday briefly, but on Friday we stayed there for the entire evening (and morning, of course) due to having found some seats which is not an easy task in in any bar in most captials in any country on a Friday night, I’d say.

Christopher, who in general, is quite well known in Oslo due to his famous comic books (and being a person worth to know in any case) is kinda like part of this bar’s interior which also suggests to be part of the reason why he doesn’t have to pay when ordering drinks.
